Root Canal Treatment

What is a Dental Root Canal Treatment?

A root canal is a dental procedure used to treat infections or damage inside a tooth. When the inner part of the tooth, known as the pulp (which contains nerves and blood vessels), becomes inflamed or infected due to decay, trauma, or cracks, a root canal is performed to save the tooth and prevent the need for extraction.

Instead of removing the tooth, the dentist removes the infected pulp, cleans the root canals, and then seals the tooth with a special material, often followed by placing a crown for protection.
